Kandis Longboy Gilmore is a Sonoma State Alumna, having graduated with her B.A. and M.S. degrees from the Department of Biology. Her master's degree research focused on pollinators of our local endangered plant species that grow in vernal pools: Sonoma Sunshine, Sebastopol Meadowfoam, and Burke's Goldfields. She has worked in instructional support since 2012 and joined the Kinesiology Department in November 2025. Kandis loves exercising outdoors whether it be hiking, snowshoeing, paddle boarding, or playing at a local park with her two sons. She is interested in the intersections between planetary health and personal health and wellness. She volunteers on the Board of Directors of Conservation Works and has taught workshops on insect identification and native bees at various locations around northern California.
